For the week, the sunflower has risen to 1,025 rubles - up to 23 650 rubles per ton, oil at 675 rubles - up to 50 of 850 rubles per ton (average prices, EXW European Russia, excluding VAT). Export price of sunflower oil rose $10 to $690 per ton (FOB).

According to experts, sunflower prices continue to rise, despite the ban on its export. This is due to the high demand from refiners and active export of sunflower oil.

Sunflower oil production from October 2019 to March this year amounted to 3.3 million tonnes, which is 23% higher than a year earlier. Experts "Sovekon" estimate the production for the entire season at a record of 6-6. 2 million tons against 5 million tonnes last season.

Sunflower oil exports from October 2019 through April 2020 reached 1.8 million tons, which is 1.5 times more than the year before. After the ban on the export of sunflower from the beginning of April it importers, primarily Turkey, switched to the purchase of oil.

Experts expect that in the short term the growth of prices for sunflower oil will continue. But the market is likely fast approaching the maximum values for the season, they said.

Export of sunflower seeds from the EAEC is prohibited from 12 April to 30 June this year.
