Government support to farmers in 2017 will remain at current levels and will exceed 220 billion rubles, said Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev at a meeting on measures of state support of selhoztovaroproizvoditeljam.

"Support to farmers in the next year saved below the level of the current year, i.e. it will remain at current levels – more than 220 billion rubles. This is the principled position of the government", — said Dmitry Medvedev, adding that it expects that these funds will work as effectively as in 2016.

"Our success in agriculture has often been said, indeed, the industry shows a steady growth. I hope that we will be able to save for the future: and very high grain yields, and therefore export potential; and increase the rate of production of meat, and different varieties of" — said the Prime Minister.

He also reminded that Russia has managed to largely solve the problem of food security at the basic heading.

In the draft budget for 2017 for the development of agriculture laid 204,5 billion. According to the 2016 budget, the cost of the state program of agribusiness development in Russia was initially $ 237 billion rubles. However, it was subsequently decided to reduce funding for the program for the development of the domestic agricultural sector this year will be directed only 214,8 billion.
