Dmitry Medvedev is concerned about the problem of distribution in Russia of African swine fever and considers it necessary to take additional measures to combat this disease.

"Problems in animal husbandry, of course, enough there are problems that we all together have to fight a very serious threat to the industry remains the African plague of pigs, other especially dangerous diseases", — stated the Prime Minister at a meeting with heads of domestic livestock enterprises.

According to the head of the Cabinet, "it is obvious that the regions need to improve the efficiency of prevention of occurrence and spread of such diseases."

"It is disturbing to note that African swine fever, in fact, moved beyond the Urals, already appeared places in Siberia, it is a real problem", — said Dmitry Medvedev. According to him, "we need to think what measures to take and hold a meeting with the regional heads and persons responsible for these activities in Western and Eastern Siberia".

The Prime Minister instructed his Deputy Arkady Dvorkovich to consider at what level to organize such a meeting to "colleagues feel their responsibility in contrast to Central Russia, where this trouble is known and where more or less learned to deal with it".

According to the Chairman of the government, for Siberian regions "is a completely new story, it is necessary to do this."
