"Overall, the fishing industry develops in Russia not bad", — stated the head of government. At the beginning of August, the total catch exceeded 3 million tonnes, 3.5 percent more than in the same period last year. 30 percent increased exports. "About 80 percent of fish and fish products that fall on the table for Russian consumers, the Russian production", — said the Prime Minister.

With all these successes, problems remain in the industry and understood the relevant agencies. "We need to establish - and this is one of the most important tasks - the supply of goods from the far East Federal district across the country, to overcome technological backwardness of production and to solve other problems, including various constraints", — said the head of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The government launched mechanisms to support fishermen. "We introduced a new system of state - quota for investment purposes, — Medvedev recalled. — Next year they will be able to organizations who invest in the construction of modern fishing vessels and fish processing enterprises".

Due to the taken measures support, for example, the proportion of completely worn-out Fund in fish processing was reduced from 30 to 6 percent. According to Deputy Minister of agriculture, head of Rosrybolovstvo Ilya Shestakov, within the investment quota has already signed 40 contracts for the construction of fishing vessels and fish processing plants 10-15. In total it is planned to build 100 ships and 20 plants. This will make another step towards the goal set before the fishermen bring the catch to 5 million tons.
