At the end of January the number of cattle in all types of farms of the Russian Federation amounted to 18.7 million heads, which is 0.3% less than in the same period last year, from it cows - 8.2 million heads (minus 0.2%). The production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in January in farms of all categories increased by 7.4% to 1.1 million tonnes (live weight). Milk production in January in annual terms increased by 3.2% and amounted to 2 million tons. Egg production in January increased by 0.9% to 3.6 billion units.
