In Russia, milk production increased by 2.2%
For the first quarter of 2018, the production of milk in farms of all categories amounted to 6.56 million tonnes of milk (+2.2%, in 2017 – 6,42 million tons)

In the agricultural sector to increase the production of milk amounted to 4.6%, in the peasant (farmer) households – 4.1% respectively.

The largest increase in milk production provided the agricultural organizations of the Krasnodar territory, Novosibirsk, Voronezh, Kaluga and Sverdlovsk regions.

Decrease in milk production allowed in Kemerovo, Orel, Novgorod regions, the Republic and Stavropol Krai.

For 3 months this year, the average milk yield per cow of dairy herd in the agricultural organizations (except microenterprises) increased by 3.7% and amounted to 1451 kg.

The greatest increase of milk production achieved in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic (396 kg), the Republic of Crimea (308 kg), Penza (+280 kg), Amur (+204 kg) and Kurgan regions (+199 kg).

The Director of the Department of animal husbandry and breeding Ministry of agriculture of Kharon Amerkhanov noted that the results obtained through the implementation of measures of state support aimed to increase milk production in dairy cattle, technological modernization and improvement of breeding qualities of animals.
