According to the Union of sugar producers of Russia with 09.04.2018 plants finished the sugar beet harvest in 2017.

From the beginning of the production season 2017/18 gg processed sugar beet 46 197,8 thousand tons (0.1% below the level of last year), worked out 6 459.6 thousand tons (6.2 percent above last year's level).

According to the FCS of Russia imports of raw sugar in the current year (as of 06.05.2018) amounted to 1.7 thousand tons (vs. 2.0 THD. MT in the same period of 2017).

The volume of Russian imports of white sugar (according to the FCS of Russia) in January - February of 2018 increased by 16.1% to 47.6 thousand tons (in January-February 2017 – 41,0 thousand tons).

The volume of Russian exports of white sugar (according to the FCS of Russia) in January-February of 2018 has increased 2.2 times and amounted to 132,0 thousand tons (in January - February 2017 – 59.1 tonnes). The main consumers are countries of Uzbekistan, Belarus, Azerbaijan.

According to operational data of rail statistics, the exports of sugar in January - March 2018 increased by 40.8% and amounted to 169 thousand tonnes For the same period in 2017, it exported 120 thousand tons.

As of may 7, 2018 wholesale price of sugar in the SFD for the week decreased by 0.1% (+23,9 % year-to-date) and amounted to 30,95 rbl./kg.

Industrial producer prices on 10.05.2018 made up of sugar white beet 29,40 RUB/kg (+1,6% over the week +of 14.7% by December 2017).

Consumer price as at 7 may 2018 was at the level of 38.20 RUB/kg for the week increased by 1.1% (+4.5% beginning 2018).

On the new York Mercantile exchange was observed the decrease of stock exchange quotations on sugar-a raw. As of may 9, 2018 quotes was at the level of the $ 249. US/t (-3,9% for the week -22,5% by December 2017).
