"In August, the index of average check amounted to 495 rubles. Compared with July, its value declined by 1 ruble, or 0.2%. It is worth noting that the average expenses of residents of the country in one visit to the store are reduced for the fifth consecutive month since April," reads the study. Compared to the same period in August 2017 (518) average check decreased by 4.4%.

Heaviest average bill in August declined compared to July in the North Caucasian Federal district - by 9.7%, to 615 rubles. In Central Russia, which fell 3.7% (up to 577 roubles), in Siberia - by 2.7% (398 rubles). In other Federal districts the check was grown in the far East - by 10.6%, to 489 rubles, Ural - 8% to 471 ruble, South - 3.8%, to 439 rubles.

In the Volga Federal district increased by 2.9%, to 427 rubles, the North-West by 1.2%, to 571 of the ruble. In Moscow the average check has decreased on 0,7% in comparison with July, to 672 rubles (in annual terms – by 2.6%), in St. Petersburg, it grew by 1.9%, to 648 rubles (in annual terms it fell by 4.4%).

Average check in hypermarkets of Russia in August compared to July increased by 2.3% - to 758 rubles (compared to August 2017 fell by 7.8%). In the supermarkets the check decreased by 1.6% to 343 rubles (in annual terms - 4.5%) discount of 2.6% to 331 rubles (in annual terms by 9.3%), small stores, traditional trade index decreased by 2.1%, to 231 rubles (in annual terms - by 2.1%).
