According to Deputy General Director for technical development – chief engineer of JSC "FGC" Andrey Shevtsov, the shortage of rolling stock and lack of spare parts, the Company increases the efficiency of the railcar unit, speeding up the turnover of the car to reduce downtime outside the Park.

"To provide clients with the necessary amount of rolling stock we try to minimize the share of non-working Park in the General Park of cars of JSC "FGC". The company analyzes the validity of the uncoupling of cars in the Torah, following the work of car repair companies, exercises control and, when necessary, surgical intervention in the logistics of carriage movement. In addition, close cooperation with market participants and repairs helps to identify bottlenecks and to take joint measures to address observations and the timely provision of spare parts", – said Andrey Shevtsov.

He also spoke about the system of preventive work which reveals the damage of the cars at sea ports during unloading coal. For example, at the site of the far Eastern railway in the year 2018, the number of rolling stock decreased by 3%. Thus, managed to avoid sending defective cars to the places of loading and to present their ports for repairs. Downtime in repairs decreased by 26%, the number of repairs fell by 37%.

Improvement observed on the entire network of Russian Railways. In particular, at the site of the South-Eastern railway.d. delays in scheduled repairs decreased by 20%, North W.d. 8% of the South Ural – 7%, North-Caucasian railway.d. – 3% etc.
