The President of the food research center of agriculture in Indonesia Yeka Hendra Fatica stated that Indonesia intends to expand the export of corn, Antaranews reported.

"There is a perception that this year Indonesia for the first time exports of corn, but it's not. We've been doing this for several years," he said.

The publication notes that Indonesia intends to expand the export of corn in such countries as the Philippines, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, UAE and Singapore.

Yeka Hendra Fatica noted that recent Indonesian corn import decreased, but, on the other hand, the import of wheat, as it turned out, increases.
