Ukraine continues sowing. Report on the situation on April 10, publishes the Ministry of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine, the correspondent of IA REGNUM.

In particular, it is reported that Ukrainian agrarians started sowing maize for grain, sown as of April 10, 58 thousand hectares, or 1% of the planned area. Also continues sowing of spring grain and leguminous crops, which are planted 2 million hectares, or 87% of the forecast. In particular, wheat is planted on an area of 141 thousand hectares, or 85% of the forecast; spring barley — 1.4 mln ha (90%); oats — to 149 thousand hectares (76%); peas — 270 thousand ha (80%), sunflower — on 516 thousand hectares (9%)., sugar beet sown on an area of 167 thousand hectares, or 68% of the forecast.

The Ministry added that the dressing of winter grain crops for grain conducted on an area of 7.5 million ha, or 99% of the forecast.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of agriculture has raised its forecast for the corn harvest in Ukraine in 2018-2019 marketing year to 305 thousand tons in comparison with the March forecast to 35.8 million tons. According to the forecast of the Ministry, the export of corn from Ukraine at the end of the 2018-2019 MG may be 29.5 million tons, up 0.5 million tons exceeds the previous estimate.

IA REGNUM recalls that, according to official information, since the beginning of the current marketing year Ukraine has exported more than 38.6 million tons of grain crops, which is by 20.6% more than in the same period last year (32 million tonnes). Substantial growth has occurred due to export of maize is 21.4 million tons, which is 67% more than in the same period of the previous year (12.8 million tons).

In General, the export of agricultural products from Ukraine in January — February 2019 increased by 24.4% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 3.5 billion dollars.
