According to forecasts of the Ministry of agriculture, supply of domestic pork products abroad at the end of this year will grow by more than 20% and will exceed 100 thousand tons.

The development of the industry were discussed at the enlarged meeting of the Board of Directors of the National Union of breeders held on the basis of the Ministry of agriculture.

The event was attended by first Deputy Minister Dzhambulat Hatuov, the Deputy Minister Oksana LUT, representatives of departments of the Ministry of agriculture and members of the Union.

As noted during the meeting, the main buyers of Russian pork products are Hong Kong, Vietnam and neighboring countries.

To perspective directions of sales includes countries of the Asian region – China, Japan, South Korea and others.

Positive dynamics of export is observed since 2012, while last year it grew by 18%. At the same time the tendency to the decrease in purchases of pork products abroad – by the end of last year the volume of imports declined by more than 70%.

A significant development in this direction is due to higher volumes of pork production in Russia. Over the past seven years this figure grew by 1.5 times.

By 2018 production increased by 5.5% to 4.8 million tonnes in January-March of the current year by 4.3% compared to the same period last year.

The undisputed industry leader is the Central Federal district, which accounts for half of the total production in the country.
