On may 27 the Minister of agriculture of Russia Dmitry Patrushev held a meeting with head of the Republic of Dagestan Vladimir Vasiliev, during which the sides discussed the issues of development of agribusiness in the region, including reclamation, sheep, breeding and seed production, as well as increasing the volume of agricultural production.

Dmitry Patrushev noted the high results of work of agriculture of the Republic. Last year, the region showed positive dynamics of agricultural production, particularly in livestock production growth was 2.1%.

"Increasing the share of profitable agricultural enterprises. The region self-sufficient in potatoes, milk and vegetables produces two times more of their consumption", - said the head of the Ministry of agriculture.

Also during the meeting discussed the development of the export potential of the Republic, in particular the development of the departmental target program for the establishment of export-oriented industrial production of mutton and its deep processing.

In conclusion, Dmitry Patrushev has expressed confidence that the meeting will contribute to the development of the agricultural sector of the Republic of Dagestan.
