The herd has approximately 8012 pigs. This is the largest outbreak, hitherto confirmed in Poland. Within a few days the animals will be euthanized and sent for recycling. Because of the number of herds eradication of the lesion can last for several days.

In a recent batch of pigs from this herd were sold for fattening in two farms located in the Podlasie and Lublin voivodships. These herds have already been tested by veterinarians and while nothing indicates that they are infected with ASF. Final confirmation of animal health will be the results of a blood test.

In Poland African swine fever is again intensified after a relatively quiet period. With the beginning of the year total number of cases in wild boars has increased to 1200.
