At the airport in English Elvington Fastrac running TV presenter and engineer guy Martin has a top speed of 166.7 km/h. This car broke the previous record (140,44 km/h) set in March 2018 model Track-Tor, created as part of the TV show Top Gear.

When designing the machine the record for a basis was taken an agricultural tractor Fastrac. Its equipped with 6-cylinder JCB DieselMax engine working volume of 7.2 L. This power unit can develop power up to 1000 HP and a torque of 2500 N•m. With the participation of specialists of the company Williams Advanced Engineering, the weight of the tractor is seriously reduced, and its design was improved from the point of view of aerodynamics.

"We have long wanted to set a land speed record on Fastrac, and our achievement is further evidence of innovative thinking engineers JCB. For the past several months, they worked tirelessly on a secret project to develop a new tractor. I am proud that we managed to achieve this goal in such a short period of time," said Lord Bamford.

It should be noted that this land speed record is not the first in the company JCB. In 2006 the DieselMax, the vehicle is equipped with two diesel engines, JCB DieselMax, accelerated to speed 563,418 km/h at the bottom of the dry lake Bonneville. This record is still not beaten.
