In Russia and in Ukraine, the first results of harvesting showed that the proportion of high-protein grain has increased tremendously.

In Ukraine in average years the food and feed wheat correlates to 60/40. In the coming season, excluding spring wheat, the ratio is like 80/20, some experts say. But prevail still more modest estimate of the proportion of food grains is 65-70%.

Ukraine typically exports wheat and wheat with protein 11.5 per cent, but in the coming season, most likely, will be exported, mainly wheat with protein content of 12.5% and probably higher. Thus, Ukraine will directly compete with Russia on the markets of wheat of a similar quality.
