This was stated by Deputy Minister of agriculture Oksana LUT for the groundbreaking of a modern oil extraction plant in the Kursk region. The event was also attended by the acting Governor of the region Roman Starovoit and representatives GK "Sodruzhestvo".

It is planned that the new plant will process soybeans and sunflower seeds and rapeseed. Its design capacity is more than 1 million tons of oilseeds per year. The project implementation will allow to increase export of oil products worth about 10 billion rubles a year. The total investment in the construction of a production and logistic complex is more than 12 billion rubles. The company will create up to 450 new jobs.

During the event Oksana and Roman Starovoit agreed on the preparation of social projects with participation of GC "Sodruzhestvo", aimed at development of rural territories of the region. These activities will be implemented under the approved state program "Complex development of rural territories". As noted by the Deputy Minister, the implementation of such projects will be significant for the population of the Letters district, Kursk region, which in the future become employees of the new company. In addition, this experience will become a landmark example of the quality of interaction between authorities of different levels with representatives of socially responsible business, aimed at the development of the Russian village.

To date, the domestic oilseed industry is developing dynamically. The industry does not only satisfy the needs of domestic consumers, but is one of the leaders of the non-commodity non-energy exports of middle redistribution. In the season 2018/2019. the proportion of our country on the world market of traditional Russian vegetable oils (sunflower, soybean and rapeseed) was about 14%, the market of sunflower oil is about 26%.

In addition, oil and fat industry has the greatest potential to increase the exports, and is one of the driving forces in the framework of the corresponding Federal project. By 2024 it is planned to increase the export of Russian oil and fat products compared to the 2017 year, more than 2.7 times, to $ 8.6 billion.
