Positive dynamics is observed in the area of risk insurance and crop and livestock production: the targets on the organization of insurance of crops and farm animals installed for the Volgograd region in the beginning of 2019, was exceeded by 21% and 16%, respectively. "Thanks to active position of the Committee of agriculture of the Volgograd region in the development of agricultural insurance and the interaction with NSAs, the size of sowing (planting) areas, covered by insurance, according to preliminary results 2019, Volgograd oblast takes the first place in the southern Federal district, – said the President of the NRA of the Roots of biggov. – According to NSA, if in 2018 there was insured 79 thousand hectares, for 11 months of the current year this indicator has grown in 3 times – to 252 thousand hectares".

In 2019 in the Volgograd region insurance was secured 82 thousand heads of farm animals. According to the NSA on October 31, 2019, there were 369 insured head of cattle, 101 thousand pigs and 2.5 million birds. It should be noted that the data on the insurance risks of pig farming in the first 11 months of 2019, surpassed that for the whole of 2018, when the insured was 92 thousand pigs.

The amount of subsidies for compensation of expenses of agricultural manufacturers on payment of insurance premiums on contracts of crop was 109 million and RUB 6 million rbl. – under contracts of insurance of risks of livestock. Insurance selkhozizdat of the region took part 5 insurance companies.

"Given the focus of the Volgograd farmers to participate in the agricultural insurance system, NSA reiterates its interest and willingness to further cooperation with agribusiness in the region", – said the President of the NRA of the Roots of biggov.

According to the Federal law No. 260-F3 "On state support in agricultural insurance", in Russia in the framework of a centralized system the government provides support to risk insurance of crop, livestock and commercial aquaculture. From 1 January 2016 at the market of agricultural insurance with state support is a single national Association, the national Union of agricultural insurers.

In 2018, the Law "On state support in agricultural insurance..." №260-FZ changes were made, the purpose of which were the flexibility and the diversity of conditions present. The law came into force on 1 March 2019.
