Scientists of the Crimean Federal University began to establish in the University a platform for the testing of Crimean and foreign varieties of olive. The first samples of foreign varieties of olive will arrive in the Crimea from Jordan. During his visit to this country of the head of the Crimean Federal University Andrey Falaleev agreement on cooperation and selected promising varieties for testing in Crimea.

"Our University graduate Firas Shehadeh now heads the quality control Department of the Ministry of agriculture of Jordan, he introduced us to the traditions in the cultivation and processing of olives in this country, we visited the oldest factory for the production of olive oil. Today, Jordan ranks fourth in the world in the export of olives, Jordanian farmers have great experience in the cultivation of olives and manufacture of olive oil. And they are ready to share this experience with us, to help in the development of testing protocols and selection", - said Andrey Falaleev.

Foreign manufacturers every year a month before the start of the olive harvest weekly rent them back to the lab to determine whether the time of collection. The earlier you harvest, the more useful work the oil, but the less will be the output. And Vice versa – late harvest yields more oil, but it is kept smaller and contains fewer nutrients. It's marketing. Some manufacturers do not work on the shaft, and by positioning its oil as superpresence the other and Vice versa. And all their questions we must have answers", - said Vice-rector for external relations of the Crimean Federal University Mikhail Sergeev.

According to Sergeyev, the seedlings of Jordanian olive trees, which will be delivered to the Crimea in accordance with the protocols of the Rosselkhoznadzor, will be transferred to overexposure to the Botanical garden.
