Spring sowing is carried out on an area of 7.9 million hectares or 15.2% of the forecasted area (2019 5.2 million hectares).

Including in the southern Federal district spring sowing carried out on an area of 2.6 million hectares or 45.2% of the forecast (2019 – 1.9 million ha) in the North Caucasian Federal district – 783 hectares, or 41.1 per cent of the forecast (2019 – 647 thousand ha) in the Central Federal district of 3.7 million hectares or 39.7% of the forecast (2019 – 2.3 million hectares), in the Volga Federal district of 630.4 thousand ha or 4% of the forecast (2019 – 227,7 thousand hectares)in the North-West Federal district – 31.7 thousand hectares or 6.9% of the forecast (2019 – 31.5 thousand hectares), in the far Eastern Federal district of 152.6 thousand ha or 6.4% of the forecast (2019 – 93,4 thousand hectares), in the Siberian Federal district (Krasnoyarsk Krai) – 0,2 thousand ha.

Spring grain crops in the whole country was sown on the area of 4.8 million hectares, or 16.6% of the forecasted area (2019 – 3.2 million ha).

Of these, spring wheat was sown 912,5 thousand hectares or 7.5% of the forecasted area (2019 – 389,2 thousand hectares), spring barley – 2.4 million hectares, or 30.7% of the forecasted area (2019 – 1.7 million ha), maize for grain – 657,5 thousand ha or 24.1% of the forecasted area (2019 – 281,8 thousand hectares), rice – 0,4 thousand ha or 0.2% of the forecasted area (2019 – 0,1 thousand ha).

Sugar beet (factory) were sown 574,3 thousand hectares or 60.8 per cent of the forecasted area (2019 – 471,6 thousand hectares).

Sunflower planted on an area of 1.3 million ha or 15.9% of the forecasted area (2019 – 567,1 thousand hectares).

Spring rape sown on the area of 118,3 thousand hectares or 9.1% of the forecasted area (2019 – 70.3 thousand hectares).

Soybeans planted on an area of 83.5 thousand hectares or 2.6% of the forecasted area (2019 – 28 thousand ha).

Potatoes in the agricultural enterprises and peasant (farm) planted on the area of 36.3 hectares or 11.7% of the forecasted area (2019 – 26.5 thousand hectares).

Sowing vegetables in agricultural enterprises and peasant (farmer) farms conducted on an area of 42.2 thousand hectares or 22.7% of the forecasted area (2019 – 23,8 thousand hectares).
