The Association "Greenhouses of Russia" analyst prices for the current month shows that the price of the fruit ranges from 54 to 78 rubles/kg, the average price is 64 rubles/kg.

The Deputy of the state Duma of the Russian Federation and the President of the Association "Greenhouses of Russia" Alexey Sitnikov has also denied the information about possible increase of prices for greenhouse products and reduction offers. According to him, in July 2020 tomatoes are much cheaper and affordable for buyers:

"The number of online resources, there were comments that greenhouse tomatoes are becoming more expensive due to sharp supply reduction, 33% weekly. The information is not reliable, – said Alexey Sitnikov. We, on the contrary, the observed significant increase in the cultivation of tomatoes in greenhouses, as well as the quantity. This is confirmed by and price of tomatoes, which is 2 times lower than in the corresponding period last year. We can safely say, the people of Russia provided the tomatoes are completely different at an affordable price."

The representatives of the greenhouse industry believe the hype surrounding information on the sharp fascination of the cost of domestic products is created artificially in order to justify the quota for the import of Turkish vegetables. According to experts of the Association, actively discussing the abolition of quotas on the import of Turkish tomatoes can worsen the situation on the market. It should be noted that the domestic producers have to comply with a large number of conditions and requirements, which are not available for the Turkish entrepreneurs in the importation of their products into the territory of the Russian Federation.

Experts claim that concerns of businessmen regarding the increase of imported products is justified. In recent years, Russian farmers heavily invested in new capacities and the implementation of modern greenhouses, the growth rate of greenhouse tomatoes has remained at 25-30% per year.

"The decision to cancel quotas on the import of Turkish vegetable products can have a most negative impact of the greenhouse plants that are now under pressure situation with the pandemic COVID-19.

Excessive pressure of Turkish products will put the industry at risk of stagnation. In April and may almost all Russian TK worked with a decline in revenue up to 50%, that almost jeopardizes the implementation and completion of the investment phase and phase-to-value for many projects," emphasizes Sitnikov.

The Association "Greenhouses of Russia" - noncommercial Association of the greenhouse farms and the related industries. The Association consists of 242 enterprises, including 127 greenhouses. The main activities of the Association is to represent and protect the interests of the greenhouse plants in the government organs and departments of the Russian Federation, the study and implementation of achievements of scientific-technical progress at the enterprises of the protected ground; international cooperation in the field of protected ground.
