The authorities plan to collect this year's record harvest of 1.3 million tons.

Over the last two years agriculture has increased the production of grain and potatoes. Last year the growth exceeded 16%. This year, growers need to collect 1.3 million tons of grain and half a million tonnes of potatoes. Governor Alexander Bogomazov set before the peasants the task is to obtain at least 40 quintals per hectare.

The area of the grain harvest in 2016 will amount to 383 thousand hectares, 10% more than the year before. All areas have started harvesting grain, the harvester has already passed the sixth part of the fields. Leading agricultural producers klintsovskiy district, Zhukovskiy, Bryansk, Surazh, and Starodub Pogarsky districts, which removed one-fifth of the acreage.

On August 1, and produced 204 thousand tons of grain, including wheat - 120 thousand tons, rye - 16500 tons. The largest gross grain harvest in Starodubsky area - 34 thousand tons, in Komarichi - 24 thousand tons, Sescom - 23,8 thousand tons.
