The export of canadian soft wheat at the beginning of the current season is slower than usual, reports the News Agency Grain Online.

According to the Canadian grain Commission (CGC), within two weeks of the season (1 to 14 August) Canada exported 421,0 thousand tons of soft wheat and 81,6 thousand tons of durum. Over the same period last season the exports of wheat amounted to 840,4 thousand tonnes, solid - 49.5 thousand tons.

The reasons for the sluggish rate of export wheat are of low carryover stocks and delay harvesting the new crop. For the whole of last season Canada exported 20.7 million tons of wheat, including soft - 16.4 million tons.
