Analysts have lowered the forecast corn yield in Europe
European analysts have lowered the estimate of corn yield in the EU in 2016, from 68.4 last month to 68.2 kg/ha. These data led the experts of the European monitoring Agency MARS

The result was 1.6% below the average annual rate for 5 years. The reason of falling of productivity of steel heavy precipitation, including hail, in Eastern Europe in the first half of the month. The worst situation is in the South-East Europe and in Poland, where there was a large backlog of work.

The experts noted that in some other EU countries productivity and the pace of work has decreased due to the opposite reasons. For example, In Germany due to the shortage of rainfall slowed the growth of the seed culture, and in France due to the drought have found it difficult to conduct field work, as well as worsened quality of the harvest.

The EU expects the total gross harvest in less than 60 million tons, while in September predicted from 60,6 to 61 million tons. In France the harvest is just over 12 million tons, other countries collect less than 10% of the total score. Also experts say that a large part of the harvest could go to feed that will not allow to fully satisfy the food demand.
