The sowing campaign of winter crops in India is delayed due to the lack of agalev cash for the purchase of seeds and fertilizers.

As of 18 November of the current year, grain and oilseeds were sown 24.47 million ha of acreage, which is less than the planned level, and the average annual figure is around 10 million hectares of winter crops.

Such slowing of the pace of planting has arisen in touch with the adoption on 8 November of 2016, the decision of the government of India about the withdrawal from circulation of the larger denominations of cash, namely, 500 and 1,000 rupees. This has led to a shortage of farmers cash for the purchase of materials needed for sowing.
