"Crops will be the main driving force of economic growth in the fourth quarter. We also expect that livestock will be more effective this time of year, as the increase in demand during the Christmas season will spur production", – said the Minister.

Emmanuel Piñol expects the recovery in crop production, in particular in the production of rice and corn, will continue next year. "I think that in the first quarter there will be positive growth," he said.

Last year agricultural production increased by only 0.11%, as the crop has suffered from drought and typhoons.
