In Punjab wheat was sown 6,677 million hectares (+0,6% compared to the previous year). Sown area of wheat in Sindh is slightly exceeded planned level of 1.5 million hectares and reached 1,157 million hectares (+0,2%).

According to preliminary data, the crop area in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan decreased to 597 thousand ha (-22%) and 362 thousand hectares (-5%), respectively, due to lack of precipitation.

The acreage under wheat in all provinces exceeded 8,793 million ha. MA Pakistan expects that this year the country will gather 26 million tonnes of wheat. Last year's harvest amounted to 25.4 million tonnes, slightly below the target of 25.8 million tonnes.
