According to this forecast, the gross wheat harvest will be about 29.1 million tonnes, 2.6 million tonnes less than in the current season.

However, as reported by Agrimoney, that will be one of the best values of this indicator for the last 20 years. The reduction of the wheat harvest will happen because of a 15% reduction in acreage under the firm varieties. Such a measure had to go because of high carryover stocks of grain.

While the acreage under wheat is expected to increase by 6% per year, as its reserves must be replenished to the same interest of farmers to it is growing.
