Sowing area of wheat for harvest in 2017 will amount to 8.97 million hectares, which is 1% higher than a year earlier. Spring wheat sowing in the major growing areas may fall behind schedule due to excess moisture.

The yield of wheat in the 2017/18 season, will probably fall to an average level. Gross harvest of wheat will decrease to 28.6 million tonnes, 10% compared with the harvest last season.

A reduction in global wheat supply next season to the weakening of the canadian dollar will allow exporters to increase wheat exports to 21 million tonnes, down 2.4% compared to the current season.

Ending stocks of wheat in the season 2017/18 will fall to the average level (5,7) million tonnes, which is 14% lower than projected for the end of the season.
