By the end of 2016/17 MG Republic of Bangladesh increased purchases of Russian grain more than 63% in comparison with the previous season to 1.9 million tonnes, which was 4.4% of the total volume of grain exports from Russia and allowed the country to climb from 8th to 3rd place in the list of key countries-importers of Russian grain.

"The main grain export to Bangladesh was formed at the expense of wheat and 1.8 million tons (94% of total supply), which is 56% higher than in 2015/16. Corn export amounted to 53 thousand tons, while in 2015/16 deliveries of Russian grain in this direction was not carried out. It was also exported 43 tons of peas – 6 times more than for the season-2015/16", the report States.

At the same time, it is noted that last season the Bangladesh stopped buying from Russia, buckwheat, sunflower meal cereals peas.

In addition, in the past season country 5 times increased purchases of Russian mustard seeds to 10.2 thousand tons. It was also imported 1 thousand tons of rapeseed and 0.1 thousand tons of coriander.
