The reason was adverse weather conditions, accompanied by an early and unexpected snowfall. Because of this, the harvest weighed in the Republic could fall by a third.

Earlier, at the beginning of fall, experts predicted that the country will collect more than half a million tons of grain. Planned wheat imports for the early autumn was stated at more than 51 thousand tons, grain – 81 thousand tons, but because of changes in agro-climatic situation these amounts can be revised.

Now farmers continue harvesting despite the difficult weather conditions. At the moment sold about 20 percent of the domestic wheat crop. Main grain exporters in the country are Russia and Kazakhstan.
