Russia exports more vodka, less grain
In the first half of the year grain exports from Russia decreased in relation to the last year, a potential on increase appeared in the first two months of the second half of the year.

According to the Federal Customs Service (FTS) of Russia data, during the period from January to
July, 2013 the volume of wheat and meslin exports from Russia was reduced more
than by 2,4 times in comparison with the same period of 2012 and made 3,266
million t or $864,5 million in terms of money. In 2012 growth of export by 5,6%
- to 16,03 million t was recorded. Recession of export deliveries began at the
end of 2012 in connection with growth of domestic corn prices.
At the same time wheat imports increased by 10,5 times and made 582,8 thousand tons, corn – by
1,6 times to 43,1 thousand tons. Barley imports, on the contrary, was reduced
by 45,7% to 232,8 thousand tons.
The FTS also reports that vodka export in January-July increased by 8,3% to 1,3 million decalitres.
