Interventions 2013: prices unpredictable – RZS
RZS doesn't give the exact forecast concerning influence of purchasing interventions on prices, but assumes that influence on the market will be positive.

Vice-president of the Russian Grain Union (RZS) Alexander Korbut declared that in the union
expected positive influence of grain purchasing interventions on the grain market
of Russia. Interventions will begin this Tuesday, October 15.
Interventions are planned to start with volume about 60 thousand tons of grain a week, at the
following stages volume will increase to 120-150 thousand tons a week,
depending on the market reaction. Until the end of 2013 the Ministry of
Agriculture plans to buy 2-3 million t of grain.
According to Alexander Korbut, it is almost impossible to predict prices changes in the
market. "The market itself leads own life. Basically, change in prices in
the market will be seen in a course of the auction", - he noted.
