According to Rosselkhoznadzor, in the Cambridge journal Epidemiology and Infection
researchers of the Norwegian national institute of nutrition and seafood research
published an article with inspection results of three farms on salmon cultivation
in artificial conditions. The inspection revealed 15 various types of Listeria
monocytogenes bacterium, 9 from which have been found at the people who have
fallen ill with listeriosis. It is noted that the illness in people was caused
by a virus found not only in fish, but also in working zones of fish processing
enterprises.
Rosselkhoznadzor emphasizes that the Norwegian legislation, unlike Russian, doesn't demand
analysis of fish products on existence of listeriya.
