The grain harvest in 2014 in the Russian Federation is expected to 97-100 million tons. This was stated by Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev at the meeting with Vice premiers.

"Weather conditions this year better than the last, "he noted. - Therefore we have reason to a favorable prognosis may be of the order of 97 million tonnes, and if it works, maybe 100 millionth milestone this year grains we shall overcome."

The head of the office added that the necessary conditions for this: a working machinery, fuel, financial resources and, of course, storage. "This will depend on how we will be able to preserve the harvest", - stressed the Prime Minister. Medvedev also noted that under the harvest of the current year farms of all types sowed grain crops on an area of over 46 million hectares, which is not inferior to the previous year.

According to him, grain farms of Crimea harvested grains throughout nearly 92% of the area and gathered over 1 million tonnes of grain. In the southern Federal district grain harvest ", too, crossed the equator - somewhere half threshed from harvesting area and in the Northern Caucasus - two-thirds". Medvedev stated that gradually cleaning are included and other regions, the situation with the collection of good, yield at the moment high - about 35 centners per hectare. The previous year was about 30 centners per hectare. At the moment already harvested about 26.7 million tons of grain.

In turn, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich told the audience that for other crops also everything is progressing well (vegetables and fruits), "we also expect a decent harvest". "The year so far (Deputy Prime Minister three times spat) looks relatively positive, this was facilitated by the measures that were taken by the government", - rejoiced Dvorkovich. Among such measures he named the agricultural subsidies that were allocated in time.

Meanwhile Dvorkovich did not rule out holding the 2014 purchase interventions in the grain market.

"As for the price - we are actively monitoring the situation, grain prices started to decline due to the beginning of the harvesting campaign, "said Dvorkovich. - We believe that may be required purchasing interventions on the market, especially for grain and other crops that are harvested in the Crimea - there is a special situation with sales, not as good as in other regions of Russia, and there will require targeted intervention purchases".

Earlier the Minister of agrarian policy of Crimea Nikolay Polushkin noted that due to European sanctions for the Crimean goods at good harvest has the problem of realization of grain. State intervention in the current situation has assumed great importance for the grain enterprises in the region.
