Working in Ukraine 266 milk processing plants around one-third complies with the requirements of the European Union, so in the future they will be able to obtain the right to supply their products to the EU market. On 29 July, stated Director General of the Center efficiency in animal husbandry Nikolai Babenko.

According to him, the first visit of the mission of DG of the European Commission DG SANCO, most likely, will be of familiarization character: assistants will give its recommendations to the processors and will monitor their implementation.

Babenko added that in September of this year experts of the EU will be to inspect in Ukraine only milk processing enterprises, although previously the Ministry of agrarian policy informed that the European vets will also visit enterprises of Ukrainian meat.

This expert also noted that the largest claims on the part of the inspectors of the Commission may be about the quality of milk as conditions of livestock in Ukraine is significantly lagging behind European standards.
