In Lithuania meat processing enterprises work with a capacity of 50-60% because of the ban on export of pork to Russia. In commercial terms we already could trade with the bigger countries that are of interest for us, there is another problem - the "paper", it's certificates, the approval of which is 1-2 years", - he explained. According to him, one of the Lithuanian meat-processing enterprise launched the supplies of its products to Hong Kong, however, export volumes are still small.
The Lithuanian import of pork and live pigs to Russia was banned in January due to detection in Lithuania African swine fever. Lithuanian Association of breeders as at the end of July assessed the damage to farmers and entrepreneurs of the country from ASF, almost 6 million euros.
