Russia's ban on food imports may have a negative impact on the Dutch economy. This was stated on Wednesday evening, the President of the Federation of agriculture and horticulture Kingdom albert Jan Maat.

"The Netherlands is the world's second largest exporter of agricultural products, and Russia is very important for us partner," he said in a statement.

"The possible consequences should not be underestimated, " said the Commissioner. - Ban will have an impact not only on sale, but the prices on the European market".

According to Maat, the organization supports the policy of the country, but wants the government took part in the liquidation of negative consequences caused by the restrictions imposed by Russia. This question needs to discuss seriously and at European level, he said.

According to the Dutch Central Bureau of statistics, total exports from the Netherlands agricultural and horticultural products was in 2013 in monetary terms 78 billion euros. Of this volume in Russia in total was directed production of 1.5 billion euros.

In turn, the Council of agriculture and food of Denmark expressed concern about the potentially serious consequences of the Russian retaliatory measures against countries that joined economic sanctions against Russia.

"Prohibition or restriction of Russia's imports of agricultural goods would have serious consequences for the Danish food industry, - said the Executive Director of the Council Soren Gade released Wednesday press release. - So far, however, we expect concrete list of countries and products that include this prohibition. The Council of agriculture and food, of course, will work closely with the Danish authorities regarding next steps."

The information Agency Ritsos Bureau notes that the suspension or restriction of Russia imports can affect agriculture of Denmark and lead to the loss of export revenues.

According to the National Institute of statistics for the year 2013, last year in Russia was shipped goods worth 2,14 billion dollars. This corresponds to 1.9% of national exports in General. Exports of agri-food sector amounts to 891 million, or 41% of exports to Russia in General.
