Switzerland refused to European suppliers of meat and dairy products and vegetables in re-exports through its territory, bypassing the Russian embargo, reports RIA Novosti with reference to the Wall Street Journal.
Earlier, the world media reported that producers of dairy and meat products and vegetable suppliers from the EU asked the Swiss authorities (which also introduced sanctions against Russia, but not to be included in the response, so as not included in the EU) to provide its territory for the supply of products in Russia.
The Federal office for agriculture, Switzerland rejected requests. Representative offices jürg Jordi's (Jurg Jordi) explained that exported from Switzerland products must be certified for compliance with hygiene standards, however, in the case of transit of the EU it is impossible to implement, as the products are produced outside Switzerland.
Except for Switzerland, as transit areas for supplies to European products in Russia is considered South America, stated in the European milk Board (European Milk Board), representing the national Association of dairy producers.
