The publication with reference to data of the Federal customs service reports that food imports in Russia in August 2014 compared to the same period last year decreased by 7.5 percent to 2.46 billion. Stronger just fell indicators for dairy products (minus 57%), pork (-45%), vegetables (minus 44%). The import of beef in August rose by 47% compared with the same period last year.

The decline in imports has led to an increase in prices of almost all kinds of meat and seafood. Chicken legs went up by 5%, ohlazhdeniya and frozen chickens - 4.5%, live and cooled fish by 3%, frozen fish of salmon species - by 2.4%, the national cheeses and cheese - 2.5%, the nuts - 2%, lemon - 22.5%, oranges by more than 7%. Decreased prices for potatoes (minus 32%), tomatoes (minus 27%), carrots, beets and onions (minus 20.5 and 23%).

Within one month after the introduction of sanctions, the Rosselkhoznadzor had talks with representatives of more than 20 States over the expansion of the food supply. In agreement with Belarus to Russia by the end of this year will be delivered 70 tons of cheese, more than 1 million tons of potatoes, more than 200 thousand tons of vegetables. In 2015, growth is projected imports of Belarusian dairy products - by 29%, meat - by 14%.

The lack of fish production is planned to replace supplies from the Faroe Islands and Chile. Resumed the import of meat from two pig farms in China. There is an agreement on the supply of products of animal origin from Turkey.
