The Italians refused "pasta" investment in Rostov region

The Italian company De Cecco refused to build in the Rostov region factory pasta, said Deputy Governor of the region Vyacheslav Vasilenko at a press conference in Rostov press-center Agency "Interfax-South".

"We (the representatives of the De Cecco - edit) negotiated two months ago. But they refused, citing the fact that this environment now," said Vasilenko.

Agreement with the Italian company were achieved at the end of last year. Then it was noted that in the Rostov region there is almost no industrial pasta production, and in cooperation with the Italians had great expectations but was already preparing a list of possible sites for construction of the enterprise. Commissioning of pasta factories in the region would contribute to the solution of problems of grain marketing. The expected capacity of the factory was about 80 thousand tons of pasta a year.

Some time ago the portal Agro2b.ru reportedthat the Dutch company had suspended cooperation with Stavropol Krai in the field of agricultural development projects on construction of greenhouses, storage facilities and production equipment for milking in connection with the sanctions.

The Italian company De Cecco merge its Russian assets, purchased in 2011, the group "Ecofys"on the basis of factory "Extra M" (Moscow). Currently, De Cecco belong, in addition to the factory "Extra M", JSC "1-I St. Petersburg macaroni factory", JSC "Russian joint stock company of pasta (SAAMI) and CJSC "1st macaroni company". De Cecco is an Italian family company, founded by the brothers de Cecco in 1886.
