Swedish Arla requires Finnish Valio liquidated damages in the amount of almost 60 million euros for breach of conditions of competition. As reported by the Finnish Telegraph Bureau (STT), a lawsuit was filed today in the district court of Helsinki.

This is still in the summer of Finnish court on questions of market relations applied to Valio sanctions in connection with the fact that in 2010 and 2012, the company knowingly sold the milk at low prices, to force its competitor - Danish - Swedish dairy company Arla - to withdraw from the Finnish market.

Eventually Valio was imposed on one of the largest fines in the history of Finland. The group that controls more than 50% of the Finnish market of dairy products, was fined 70 million euros.
