Poland is interested in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of agriculture, Minister of agriculture and rural development of Poland Marek Sawicki in Baku, informs "Interfax" with reference to the Ministry of agriculture of Azerbaijan.
In Baku was held on the eve of a meeting of a delegation from the Polish Minister of agriculture Heydar Asadov.
"After the meeting noted the interest of Poland in cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of agriculture, in particular, identification of animals, milk production, artificial insemination, expansion of export potential," the statement said.
Asadov during the meeting noted that Poland, as an EU member, has a good base on methodology and measurement systems in agriculture, and Azerbaijan is interested in exchange of experience in this field.
He also said that Azerbaijan and Poland can implement joint projects in the sphere of development of artificial insemination, the development of the potato industry, to expand the legal framework to encourage investment in agribusiness, development of the interdepartmental scientific-technical cooperation.
The meeting also stressed that Azerbaijan is interested in obtaining information about Polish companies engaged in export of agricultural products.
Recall that the cooperation in the field of agriculture, Azerbaijan continues to develop and with Russia. In may this year as part of the fifth Russian-Azerbaijani forum of Interregional cooperation: new opportunities for growth in Gabala was held a round table on the theme "Strengthening of bilateral relations in the agricultural sector". The forum was signed the agreement between Dagestan and Azerbaijan, according to which the parties will work together to develop the fishing industry.
The country is also very interested in the latest agricultural technologies. Last year in Baku took place the 53rd meeting of the Board of Trustees of the International center for agricultural research in the dry areas (ICARDA), which had introduced new technologies of agricultural production, ensuring its profitability level to 197%. Several of the technologies already passed the experimental approbation in Azerbaijan and showed positive results.
