Imports in January - October 2014 from foreign countries in value terms amounted to $214,02 billion compared with the same period of 2013 decreased by 5.3%. This is stated in the materials of the FCS of Russia.

In October 2014 relative to October of 2013, imports from non-CIS countries decreased by 10.1%. In October 2014, compared with October 2013 decreased purchases of textiles and footwear 23.5%, food products - by 14.0%, machine-building products - by 8.7%, chemical products - by 5.7%.

In food imports in October annualized reduced purchases of dairy products by 69.4%, vegetables - by 50,6%, fruits - by 21.1%, sugar - by 20.1%, meat and offal - 19.7% (pork - 37.5%, poultry meat - by 4.8%), fish - by 14.2%, alcoholic and non-alcoholic products - by 8.9%. While the import of vegetable oils has increased by 32.8%, tobacco - by 8.7%, cereals - by 6.9%.

Changes in relation to September 2014

Import of goods to Russia from abroad in October 2014, according to preliminary customs statistics, grew by 5.4% compared to September of the current year, to $22,368 billion

Imports of foodstuffs and raw materials for their production in October increased by 14.1%, to $2.88 billion, machine-building production by 11.5%, to $11.3 billion, chemical products - by 1%, to $3.91 billion, while imports of textiles and footwear decreased by 28.7% to $1,058 billion

In the group of food products and raw materials for their production increased imports of vegetables by 85.6%, cereals - by 53.9%, dairy products - by 44.7%, fish - by 36.7%, vegetable oil - by 34.4%, fruits - by 17.5%, meat and offal - 11.4% (poultry meat - by 91.9%, pork - by 43.3%), alcoholic and non-alcoholic products - by 9.3%. The value of import of sugar in October 2014 compared with the same index for September of the current year decreased by 21.7%, tobacco - 5.7%.
