Altai Krai due to adverse weather conditions this year have lost crops in the area of 600 hectares, informs "Interfax" with reference to the Directorate of agriculture in the region.

The Agency noted that such weather conditions in the history of meteorological observations has not been 96 years: spring field suffered from flooding, summer drought has destroyed crops in the 165 thousand hectares, 17 thousand hectares were destroyed by hail in the fall because of the constant rainfall has slowed the pace of harvesting, two weeks earlier than usual in October, the snow fell, covering about 400 thousand hectares of wheat and buckwheat.

November 6, in the Altai region was introduced a state of emergency due to losses in agriculture. The damage amounted to about 1.5 billion rubles. The regional authorities are preparing the documents to the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation to assess the damage, and also appeal to the government of the Russian Federation on compensation farms part of the costs associated with crop damage.
