The United Nations Development programme ready to invest in agriculture Abkhazia $800 thousand, according to the portal Sputnik-Abkhazia with reference to the administration of the President of Abkhazia.

This decision was taken following the meeting, President Raul Khajimba with representatives of three international organizations.

One of the main ideas of UNDP projects is to improve the material and social conditions of the people engaged in agriculture. In particular, in Abkhazia will focus on improving greenhouse production and sale of their products.

"From the package of proposals presented by the representatives of UNDP, the project associated with agriculture, the most important for most people, especially for those who are engaged in agricultural activities", said Raul Khajimba.

The program will be implemented in the leading agricultural regions of the Republic: Gudauta, Gulripshi, Ochamchire and Gali.

Meanwhile, the state customs Committee of Abkhazia reports about the decline in exports of agricultural products in 2014. The export of citrus this year decreased by 5.26 tons to 10.47 thousand tons. In addition to citrus, decreased exports persimmon - up 401 tons, which is by 198 tonnes less than in 2013. At 294 tons exports grew feijoa - 505 tons.

Recall, this fall the group of companies "Belaya dacha" announced plans to create a production salads in Abkhazia. To this end, the company has sent a specialist in the Republic and initiated negotiations with the local government.
