According to the European Commission, from January 2015 USA resume imports of beef from countries of the European Union.

"We welcome the statement of the Department of agriculture US about the opening of the market for beef exports from the EU to start from Ireland. This will be the first step towards removing disproportionate and unjustified ban USA in 1990-ies, as well as to restore normal trading conditions," says the EC.

Recall that the European Union is still in the early 1990-ies imposed a ban on the import of meat of cattle from the United States, the production of which used the growth hormone. In response, the United States imposed against EU sanctions approved by the WTO, establishing additional customs duties on some products from EU countries.

Brussels tried to challenge this decision, however, the WTO demanded scientific proof that "hormonal" beef harmful to human health.
