The Russian Federation proposes to establish a system of control over the circulation of products from sturgeon. This is stated in the report of the Ministry on the results of an extended meeting with the participation of the Ministry of internal Affairs, FSB, Ministry of industry and trade, Ministry of environment and the Ministry of agriculture, writes TASS.

The Federal fishery Agency proposes to implement a system of labeling of sturgeon species and to create an information system that will allow you to trace the circulation of products in the domestic market are given in the message words of the head of the Federal Agency for fishery Ilya Shestakov. The meeting decided to establish an interagency working group to implement the control system, according to a release from the Department.

For exported products sturgeon species under the international treaties, in Russia there is a system of marking of eggs based on the use of disposable marking on each primary container. Russian producers of caviar have to compete with foreign products (sturgeon bred in Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iran) and poachers.

The catch of wild sturgeon is prohibited in Russia, however, according to experts, the market poaching of black caviar is in quantitative terms about 20 tons per year, which is comparable to the legal sector. The legal production of black caviar in Russia in 2014 amounted to about 27 tons. In 2014, officials of the Agency identified more than 4 thousand violations associated with illegal production of sturgeon species.
