Wheat exports from Russia for the first two weeks of 2015 (1 through January 15) in real terms grew by 30% to 495 thousand tons compared with the same period in 2014 (from 1 to 19 January).
This is stated in the materials of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation (Ministry of agriculture) with reference to data of the Federal customs service of the Russian Federation.
However, the whole delivery of grain from Russia during this period decreased by approximately 8% to 588 thousand tons. The share of wheat in the structure of the supply of grain to foreign markets during this period increased from 60% to 84%.
Previously TASS was told that the government has imposed export duty on wheat from February 1, 2015 in the amount of 15% of the customs value plus €7.5, but not less than €35 for 1 ton. This measure was taken in order to reduce the attractiveness of the sale of grain for export and to stabilize the prices of flour and bread in the Russian market.
Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, speaking before the faction "United Russia" has stated that the export duty will reduce grain prices in Russia 0.5-1.5 rubles per kg to 10.5 rubles per kg
However, the tendency to increase the price of bread and flour in the domestic market may continue until April 2015 as a delayed effect of the established cost of grain, he added.
