The Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) for the first working week of January saw the highest number of complaints to the higher prices of products in retail since the introduction of the food embargo. This was reported by TASS in the press-service Agency.

Just a week 12-17 January received 700 complaints from citizens. "Such a large number of complaints did not occur either for a one-week hotline", - said the representative of the FAS.

Most Russians complained to the higher prices of milk and dairy products (109 hits), vegetables (89), sugar (76), eggs (65) and buckwheat (62).

According to her, the territorial management of the FAS keep checking in the regions due to the sharp increase in sugar prices. In particular, the FAS initiated a case against three companies in Penza, suspected of collusion by setting unreasonably high prices for sugar, said the representative of the FAS.

Earlier it became known about the scale of the Prosecutor checks the trade sector, due to the sharp increase in food prices. In particular, the growth of prices of some food products in terms of predamage ranged from 10 to 150%, according to TASS, the official representative of the Prosecutor General's office Marina Gridneva.
